I went in a place that leads me away
Stayed for a while even just for a day
I looked around as I moved around
Found something, even touched that thing
Happiness filled this heart
Emptiness vanished from the inside
Couldn't ask for more in anything
Hours spent with it, an endless thing
I held it so tight yet still lost it from my sight..
Time had reached the end,
Had to find my way back ..
And never again, lose track..
Of losing another thing that stayed,
Though how much I tried
Letting it go, walked and ran away from
Still in there and never left my sight..

I had so much to accomplish
That I didn't have time to pray
Troubles just tumbled about me
And heavier came each task
why doesn't God help me? I wondered
He answered, "You didn't ask"
I tried to come into God's presence
I used all my keys at the lock
God gently and lovingly chided
"why, child, you didn't knock."
I wanted to see joy and beauty
But the day toiled on, gray and bleak
I called on the Lord for the reason
he said, "You didn't seek"
I woke up early this morning
And paused before entering the day
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray..
